Last week Nipsey Hussle was in Tucson working on some business & decided to stop by Phoenix to record some drops. Nipsey is the undisputed voice of the West Coast & has been named one of the Freshman Top 10 of ’10 by XXL Magazine. The first time I heard Nipsey it was his track “Hussle in the House” with a fresh nostalgic sound on a flipped Kris Kross beat.

After that I had a chance to cross his path at the One Stop Shop Producers conference where he happen to make a guest appearance. Ever since Ive seen his career has grown past the mixtape scene & beyond music in general.

Nipsey also owns a clothing store in South Central off of Crenshaw where he sells his signature Crenshaw T’s and has ambition to expand. From selling his cars to build his own studio to jumping on tracks with Drake, Nipsey Hussle has built a name for himself in the industry.

We all know Wal-Mart as the place with “Roll back” prices & a nice happy face logo to sell peace of mind to the customers that choose to buy their product. A friendly corporate giant who is wants to serve you and you’re community.

The PR bullshit has almost become a bludgeon to the people who have to or choose to shop in Americas fastest growing grocery chain that claimed $258 billion from their growing grocery sector.

If you don’t somehow already know Wal-Mart is one of the most corrupt, evil enterprises that thrive in this nation today. From their cycle of workers that will never sustain a standard income or benefits to their state tax evasion policies that affect local communities. (plus half their merchandise comes from sweat shops)

Many labor groups across the nation fight hard to halt or completely stop the development of Wal-Mart’s in their communities but none have been as successful as the Saint Consulting Group.

P. Michael Saint, the founder of the Saint Consulting Group, has deemed himself the “Wal-Mart killer” & has successfully stopped Wal-Mart & their practices across the nation. Funded by other grocery chains like Safeway & Supervalu the Saint Consulting Group uses what they call “black arts” to conquer the grocery warehouse conglomerate.

From his staff using fake names & numbers to bombard local legislatures phone lines to conducting political campaigns, Saint has claimed he has championed over 1,500 campaigns across the nation.

Saint was a former journalist & since founding the firm has successfully ceased many project that are detrimental to communities such as shopping centers & oil refineries…

If you forward the video to 1:01 you see our 44th President with some gold rings & on a big ass cell phone. I was sold, after initially coming across the video on The Huffington Post I had to find out some real source to the footage. Could this seriously be him?

In recent weeks Arizona has been put in the spot light due to the signing of the bill SB1070, a controversial law that requires the local police to act upon Federal Immigration policies.  The problem not only lies in the vague language that the law uses to identify what is an illegal immigrant but it is also full of crazy provisions like being able to sue a police officer if he is not upholding the law & having the court refund legal fees if you win.

The real concern with this legislation is whether or not it stops here.  Although the country is in dire need of immigration reform the law is nothing more than rhetoric of a crazy group of nativists who what their extreme views to become mainstream.  The people who drafted the law have been deemed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and they have a track list of associating with extreme ethnic separatists.  The group FAIR takes full credit for drafting the law & credit our state representative Russell Pearce for pushing it past legislation.

On May 30th Puente, a human rights group, organized supporters from all over the country to come & show their opposition to the new law & the similar laws it is spawning across the U.S.  The protest was by far one of the largest the state of Arizona has ever seen.

In the past few years Phoenix, Arizona has been subjected to the worst of all aspects of the nations woes.  From the real estate market, crime, to education we have been ranked the worst in the nation.  Being 3rd generation Arizonan I began looking into my heritage & the true heritage of this city & state to understand how we got to this point.  After looking into the origins & history of my neighborhood I began to realize that there was a social & economic injustice in all the historic areas that were predominantly Hispanic.

From the GoldenGate neighborhood to the Santa Rita Church where Cesar Chavez fasted in the 1970′s, it is almost like the city is slowly allowing the eradication of the little culture it has left.  Which brings us to today…

The corruption of the states politicians has become more & more transparent & the explanation for the social injustice & the selective conservation of Arizona’s history became clear.  The policies & legislation have been in the hands of the Republican party since territory days & today has become a circus sideshow of the worst group of political leaders in state history.  Which has ultimately lead to the decisions made within the city & expansion projects that have demolished many of the historic minority areas…

I continue to search and make sense of the current state of my city only to realize we have a track record of poor leaders who were out for their own political or financial gain.  The fact is Arizona is the perfect representation of whats going on in the United States…

Poor leadership that has not only made the people succumb to to turning against each other, but extreme oppositions that are mainly interested in the division of the people…

This is where I began documenting the city & trying to become the output of local affairs…
